Up amongst the arenas and well lit rinks of the professional leagues, grabbing first class images of ice hockey is certainly not easy but it is achievable. Once you drop below those leagues, however, it becomes very difficult. Rinks are generally very poorly lit and most cameras are simply incapable of finding enough light to secure an image.

To give us the best chance possible, we shoot with professional digital equipment including the very finest sports lenses around. Even then, there are rinks that are simply non-starters and even then, the majority of the photos we take are just not good enough to offer for sale but we do grab a few winners and those will make it to the site !

All of the photos featured on Ice Pix UK will look very good at sizes up to 11" x 8" and even 15" x 10" in some cases ........ if they don't, they will not make the site, full stop. Everything up to 11" x 8" is printed by ourselves and we only use premium Kodak paper in order to guarantee the very best results.

At the moment, the vast majority of our images are shot at Planet Ice, Peterborough where the lighting is not great but it does offer something to work with. If you are playing in Peterborough, give us a shout and make sure we are around !
